San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My experience with this clinic was very disappointing. During the free consultation, I was not given a clear explanation of the total cost before being asked to sign paperwork. As someone who is not fluent in English and was feeling unwell at the time, I found the process confusing and overwhelming. Later I learned that the proposed treatment for two implants and four teeth would cost about $16,000, which I could never afford. When I expressed my concerns and asked for help, I did not feel that the staff showed understanding or compassion, and they refused to refund my money. I encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask for a detailed written estimate, carefully review all documents, and get a second opinion before signing anything.

University Dental has provided me with professional services for 2 years now. Dr. Hage is my sister's dentist, she recommended me to him. Dr. Hage helped me immensely and I have seen him several times for dentistry. Also Dr. Zand I have seen twice and the dental work from start to finish is greatly appreciated. They are very kind, patient and helpful. I also received excellent Hygienist services. The office staff and technicians have been very helpful and kind as well. I will continue to visit University Dental for my dental needs.

I would not under any circumstance recommend this place for anyone needing serious dental work done. Firstly, the doctor was kind, but I found the assistants to be apathetic, rude, uncommunicative, and uncaring as I felt like I was treated like a piece of meat in a chair, and my pain levels were not prioritized during procedures. Secondly, I was directly lied to about the cost of my procedures as the doctor literally told me a crown would be HALF the price I ended up paying. I am grateful they let me split it in half, but they did not budge on any alternate type of payment plan. I ended up crying during and after each appointment I had with University Dental (literally have never experienced this) because of pain and lack of being treated like an actual human. This place may be good for cleanings or exams, but I do not recommend them for individuals who are sensitive, have a long list of dental procedures to be done, or have a general fear of dentists. It is rare that I don't feel safe and cared for in a dentist chair.

I am so glad I called Dr. Hage's office just before Christmas. Seeing his huge advertisements, I was scared to call him, thinking he was going to be so much out of my price range. Not only does he work with me in every way to make it affordable, but he makes me feel that he genuinely cares, pays attention to details, and has a wonderful bedside manner. I feel like he gives me his full attention whenever he is consulting with me or working on my teeth on every visit. Answers my repeated questions patiently. All around I feel like he goes out of his way to get results that a great doctor is proud for others to see. Furthermore, his office works like clockwork. In addition to his medical expertise, it seems his executive capabilities have created wonderful teamwork in his office. It is hard to believe that it is possible to receive excellent service from every single person you interact with in his office. I guess it shows how impressed I am so far. I am looking forward to continuing receiving this excellent service and seeing the doctor help many other people as he has helped me. Thank you, Dr. Hage.

I was moving and needed to transfer my orthodontic care, but University Dental has made the process incredibly difficult. I have been requesting my transfer documents since December 2023, and they refuse to provide them, preventing me from continuing my treatment. To make things worse, the representative at the office didnโt even know what a transfer form was, which shows a complete lack of professionalism. Now, they are using the excuse that they donโt require the form, even though my new orthodontist has specifically requested it. Instead of simply providing the information needed, they continue to refuse and make the process impossible. Due to their refusal to provide necessary records, I have contacted the California Dental Board to report their unprofessionalism. If you ever need to transfer your records, donโt expect them to make it easy. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I understand that while the form may not be required on their part, that doesnโt mean a patient doesnโt require itโespecially when a new provider has specifically requested it. I have sent dozens of emails back and forth requesting simple information that would take them no more than 15 minutes

I highly recommend University Dental to anyone seeking quality dental care. Their team is highly communicative, affordable, and experienced, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience. While dental visits are not my favorite, they made the process seamless and addressed all my needs. I recently had a deep cleaning performed yesterday, and they offered me the best price with my insurance. I am thoroughly impressed with their service and will definitely return for future treatments. Respectfully, S/P Jose A.
